Hey loves! It’s your girl Carly and I’m here once again to share with you a blog post on my wedding which took place on 2nd April, 2022.

You know what? Look for a comfy chair to sit on, grab a cup of coffee, some snacks, then another cup of coffee again because it’s going to be a long post. Just kidding! Remember I promised to share with you how my wedding went? Seriously can’t wait to put them down here.

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.

As many of you know, It’s been already few months now since I got married to the love of my life. Even though, I couldn’t wait to share with you my happy moments with you in a new post, every time I start writing, I get stuck somewhere in the middle of my post trying to figure out the right words to use to describe how happy I was that day. Additionally, the feeling of tremendous joy, happiness and exciting moment of our life was just beyond description.

On the 2nd of April, Mordecai & I tied the knot after almost 4 years of being in an open relationship. It was a beautiful moment seeing family members traveling from long distance to witness their beloved kids getting married. Esp. my mom flying all over from France to Ghana to support us. After few months of preparation, planning and organizing the wedding, the many sleepless nights and so much anxiety, in fact, I have to say that it was all worth it. You know what? It turned out to be one of the most unforgettable day of our lives.

Looking back, although it was a small celebration with few friends and families, we can say it was a beautiful dream come true.

My wedding day

BEFORE MY WEDDING

We were still on the wedding preparation and can’t figure out what to do with my hair. I was looking for more inspirations  on PINTEREST. It took me more days in my search for the hairstyle and who will do it for me. So I was able to come out with a simple curly hairstyle with some pretty pins on it. Woke up very early in the morning on the 2nd of April, curled my hair with some bending rollers but couldn’t get more of the curls I wanted so had a hairdresser close to me who assisted me with that.

Secondly, I had to rush home and start putting on my makeup. Yes, I did my own simple makeup and I was very okay with it just that so much pressure was on me. Putting on my makeup and the videographer and photographer trying to do their job added the stress to it and I was sweating more. Of course, to avoid all these, that’s why upcoming brides pay  makeup artists to do their job while they relax, but trust me, I loved the experience.

THE WEDDING

Since our guest were coming from different cities, It was important to have the wedding at an easiest destination that wouldn’t make them travel from one place to the other once again. We got married at the town I was living in with my family in Kumasi which was a very beautiful garden surrounded with artificial lakes. The first time we visited the place, we knew it was our pace. Furthermore, the location or venue was perfect for the kind of wedding we wanted to have. Natural, relaxing, yet elegant and dreamy. Isn’t it?

Yea! That’s exactly how it felt.

We sand a song to begin and the marriage discourse followed up. We exchanged marital vows, rings, signed and were introduced to the audience as officially married.

My wedding day

Mord and I planned some pretty nice reception with local and continental foods to enjoy with our guests. I can’t forget about the good music we played and danced. We took great photos which I had to share just few of them here.

I’m not going to take you through all the details of the night. Probably better to keep some of them secret lol. I will just say it was super fun

To sum it all, the decoration, the wedding talk, the reception and dinner hold some of the most beautiful memories: The beautiful songs, the first dance ( We chose Lady In Red by Chris De Burgh), the romantic photoshoot, the fun and laughter filling the room and simply being surrounded by sweet friends and families who celebrated with us.

I’ve shared some of the special moments from that day captured by our great photographer @Daddyboatphotography.

Did you get that second cup of coffee? Guys, now it’s the time!

THE DANCE

The time came for us to dance friends. Nothing gave me more anxiety than for the time to come for us to dance in front of our guests! I have never in my entire life danced in public believe me so it was some sort of anxiety for me lol. I can’t tell you how nervous I was about our first dance guys. I honestly stressed about it for like two weeks leading up to our wedding day.

That song turned on, and we got up there believe me turned out to be one of the most favorite moment that day.

A perfect marriage is just two imperfect people who refuse to give up on each other
