Acne. The Premier Teas For Keeping It Under Control
Acne has bothered many of us for ages now. We all long to see each and every one of them disappear from our face one day.
Specially-formulated skincare products like facial cleansers, facial scrubs/ exfoliants, medicated creams, toners naturally made at home… if you suffer from acne and breakouts, I’m sure you’ve tried them all. In fact, anyone will understand there’s nothing you won’t try to control your pimples or breakouts. But what if part of the problem isn’t what you’re putting on your face, but what you’re putting in your body? Sometimes that’s the issue.
It’s no secret that what you eat, and drink influences your skin and that’s a fact! Nutrient-rich foods such as
- Fatty fish. Fatty fish, such as salmon, mackerel, and herring, are excellent foods for healthy skin
- Avocados. Avocados are high in healthy fats
- Walnuts
- Sunflower seeds
- Sweet potatoes
- Red or yellow bell peppers
- Broccoli
- Tomatoes
arguably have more benefits the skin crave for than those nutrient-dense serums you’re using. So, with that in mind, what can you put in your body to help keep flareups under control? The answer is: TEA for clear skin and yes it works.
The tradition of tea-drinking is literally kind of old fashioned. And while we don’t know if spearmint tea was what kept Cleopatra looking so fine, we do know that there are a number of teas for clear skin.
Just in case we don’t know who Cleopatra was (Cleopatra was believed to use royal jelly in her beauty rituals to moisturize her skin from head to toe. Royal jelly is collected from bees; it is secreted from the glands in the hypopharynx of nurse bees. This ingredient delivers nourishes skin with essential vitamins and minerals and thoroughly moisturizes the skin. More references here. Without wasting much time, let’s get into the tea stuffs! 😉
GREEN TEA
Green tea would always be my favorite. Why? Like many of the other teas on my list, green tea is full of antimicrobial and antibacterial properties. The catechins in green tea are what lends itself to combating the microbes and bacteria that cause breakouts. But green tea is also rich in antioxidants that neutralize free radicals and help to heal marks and scars caused by old blemishes and breakouts. It’s also an effective toner that helps refine large pores and unclog others. You can choose to drink it with warm water or apply it directly on your face. Cleanse off within few minutes and moisturize.
CHAMOMILE FOR ACNE
The second tea I love is the chamomile. The ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans used chamomile to reduce inflammation and heal wounds. Today, chamomile is known as one of the best treatments for calming inflamed skin caused by acne as well as improving the appearance of scars and dark spots left behind by breakouts. But because chamomile has anxiolytic effects, which means it combats stress and anxiety, it also has an affect on stress-dependent acne. Isn’t that an advantage? Don’t forget to check these amazing ingredients you should consider in your skincare products.
HIBISCUS FOR ACNE
Remember there are over 37 varieties and species when it comes to hibiscus flowers and majority of them have amazing benefits to the skin. I’ll be writing about just one of them. The name is “Hibiscus sabdariffa” also known as roselle leaves. This bright flower contains gentle acids like citric and malic acid. It’s these organic acids that help exfoliate dead skin cells and promote skin cell regeneration. By purifying your pores of dead skin and allowing new cells to grow in their place, hibiscus helps reveal the fresher, clearer layer of skin underneath. But it also contains anthocyanosises, which not only protect against free radicals, but also reduce the appearance of large pores that are common in acne-prone skin.
DANDELION FOR ACNE
Tea made from the roots of dandelion work a little differently than other teas in terms of improving acne. When toxins build up in your liver, they’re secreted out of the skin through the digestive system. This leads to acne and breakouts. But Dandelion root is an excellent way to detoxify your liver. It’s also high in vitamins A, B, C, and D, iron, potassium, and zinc, which all contribute to a clear complexion.
TO SUM IT ALL
Acne is a common skin condition that’s difficult to control honestly. It can be caused by a number of factors, including stress, hormones, bacteria and microbes, as well as aging skin that doesn’t shed dead skin cells and regenerate new ones as easily as it used to. Your acne solution is dependent on the cause of your acne, but your solution shouldn’t be wholly topical (external treatment only) either. While topical acne-fighting ingredients are helpful, what you put INSIDE your body is just as important as what you put on it. And with just a CUP of the best TEA for clear skin every day, you can boost the performance of your other treatments, or maybe even negate the need for them altogether.
Unwanted Life
I’ve never had acne, but I do have issues with getting one or two disgusting yellow spots. I didn’t know you could drink something that would help. One trick that does seem to work for me is rotating my pillows and pillow sides
